While speaking at an event organised by his followers on Saturday, June 11 at Benin City, the Edo state capital, Pius Odubu stated that Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Edo state governor scored him with the highest mark as the number one governorship candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the forthcoming Saturday, September 10 governorship poll in the state this year.

Having been the number two man in the state under the administration of Governor Oshiomhole for at least seven years to the present time, the deputy governor said he has studied the current governor in all his leadership style, thus making the governor to have nurtured him to succeed him.

“We need a governor that will hit the ground running. We need a governor that is game-ready and not one with potential. “We will bring to bear, all that the governor has taught us, and our expertise. We will do the greatest good to the greatest number of the people within the shortest time possible when we get there. “By His grace, I know and I believe that I am the man that will take over from the governor.’’

He called on all delegates of the APC at the Saturday, June 18 governorship primary election not to be deceived into voting for the wrong aspirant, emphasising that, voters should freely vote for the candidate of their choice. He also spoke on the purported purchase of Permanent Voters Cards (PVC’s) by a particular aspirant, saying, “my good people of Edo, I hear they are collecting your PVCs; please, your PVC is your property, it is your right, don’t sell it, don’t mortgage your future. “You have to freely choose the man or woman that you want. You must choose who will govern Edo of your own free volition.’’
