– There were protests earlier today, June 20 by workers in the federal ministry of finance
– The workers were protesting against the minister of finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun
– They used the opportunity to air their grievances against the minister

Some workers in the federal ministry of finance, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja today, June 20, barricaded the main gate of the federal ministry of finance. The workers who were in their hundreds, were protesting against the minister of finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun over what they said is her constant maltreatment of workers in the ministry. The workers were chanting songs and also carried placards with various inscriptions accusing the minister of negligence. Some of the placards read: “Inflation is 15% courtesy of Adeosun”; “Adeosun score card is zero”; “You are destroying Federal Ministry of Finance” and “Kemi Adeosun must go” among others.


Some of the workers who spoke to Newsmen under the condition of anonymity, accused the minister of not paying their allowances even as they claimed she has been collecting her own allowances. Some others said the minister was disrespectful and had no regards for civil servants. See photos from the protest below:
